DESCRIPTION:With Sister Jane Mary Gawlik\, CSSF and Sister Judith Marie Blizzard\, CSSF \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBy being open and attentive to finding God in all things\, art can draw us more deeply into our hearts and minds and encounters with God. Take time to explore prayer through Scripture and creative reflection. Connect with God through art as prayer–while exploring various mediums\, including clay\, ink and watercolors. Find your inner artist and connection with God as Sister Judy  guides sessions in Maryville’s scenic setting. \n\n\n\nNo artistic ability is required.The cost includes 2 nights of accommodations 5 meals and art supplies: \n\n\n\n\nSingle Occupancy – $295.00 per person\n\n\n\nDouble Occupancy – $275.00 per person\n\n\n\nCommuter/day attendee – $195.00 (includes 5 meals and art supplies – no lodging)\n\n\n\n\nLeaders \n\n\n\nSr. Jane Mary Gawlik will continue vocation work building upon her prior role as co-vocation director\, where she assisted young women in discerning their call to religious life. Sr. Jane Mary is a native Texan and joined the Felician Sisters immediately after high school. She holds a BA in Elementary Education with a minor in Art\, a MA in Pastoral Ministry and certificates in Youth Ministry and Spiritual Direction. Recently she successfully completed a program for Initial Formation. Sr. Jane has dedicated her ministry to education in California\, New Mexico\, Oklahoma and Texas including service in the public school system. \n\n\n\nSr. Judith Marie Blizzard is dedicated to the Maryville ministry as coordinator of spiritual direction and programming. She also serves as one of the vocation outreach ministers for the Felician Sisters of North America. Engaged in evangelization\, retreat ministry\, and parish missions\, she holds a bachelor’s degree in education and religious studies from Felician University in Lodi\, NJ and a master’s degree in spirituality from Creighton University in Omaha\, NE. As we reflect on the interconnectedness of environmental\, social and economic systems\, we are invited to consider how our choices impact the earth\, the dignity of all living beings and the future of our global community. \n\n\n\nFeatured Speakers: \n\n\n\nDr. Andrew Domzalski\, Madonna University Dr. Andrew Domzalski is director of the B.A. in Animal Studies program and chair of the Department of Humanities at Madonna University. His work reflects a multidisciplinary approach\, with a focus on religious perspectives on animals\, particularly Christian understandings of animal souls and redemption. He teaches courses including Animals in Religion and Do Animals Matter? and has published and presented in his field. For more than twenty years\, he has engaged students in service-learning through collaboration with the Detroit Zoo. \n\n\n\nDr. James Robinson\, Iona UniversityDr. James Robinson is a clinical lecturer in the Religious Studies Department at Iona University and director of the Deignan Institute for Earth and Spirit. This presentation offers a unique opportunity to learn about the Church’s saint-making process and celebrate the life and legacy of the Felician Sisters’ foundress. \n\n\n\nAbout Sister MartaSister Maria Marta Zielińska has been a Felician Sister for 47 years. She earned her Master’s degree in Theology from the Academy of Catholic Theology in Warsaw and served for fourteen years as a religion teacher in various parishes. In 1995 she studied English in the United States\, followed by a year of preparation in Rome to serve as official postulator for the canonization cause of Blessed Mary Angela Truszkowska. \n\n\n\nWhile residing in Rome\, she also served as General Archivist for the Felician Congregation. Upon returning to Poland\, Sister Marta spent a year in the Prayer Community and later oversaw the Blessed Mary Angela Truszkowska Museum and Archives in Kraków. She currently serves as Provincial Minister of the Our Lady Queen of Poland Province in Warsaw\, Poland\, while continuing her role as postulator for Mother Angela’s cause. She also serves as one of the vocation outreach ministers for the Felician Sisters of North America. Engaged in evangelization\, retreat ministry\, and parish missions\, she holds a bachelor’s degree in education and religious studies from Felician University in Lodi\, NJ and a master’s degree in spirituality from Creighton University in Omaha\, NE. Sr. Judith’s diverse past ministries include education\, leadership\, vocation ministry\, formation\, retreat ministry\, spiritual direction\, and mission leadership for Mooncrest Neighborhood Programs. \n\n\n\nSr. Mary Anna Falbo grew up in a small town in central New York and has spent more than 50 years of religious life in Buffalo\, NY. The retreat provides time for personal prayer\, reflection\, rest\, and contemplation\, with daily Mass as the only set time. Meals and lodging can be arranged flexibly to suit your needs. While mostly silent\, the retreat offers opportunities for optional spiritual exercises or contemplative activities. This experience is fully customizable to accommodate your individual needs.
