SUMMARY:Angela Cares: Cooking For One
DESCRIPTION:The Angela Cares educational speakers series seeks to empower community members by engaging them in topics that are both practical and intriguing. Our goal is to share insight that will help individuals as they navigate unfamiliar – and yet\, not uncommon – experiences related to end of life\, grief\, health\, wellness\, spirituality\, and family dynamics. \n\n\n\nWhen someone dies\, loved ones may suddenly find themselves taking on new responsibilities. Cooking might be one of them. But even those who have been cooking for years may need to adjust when they begin living alone. Learn cooking techniques and tips – and try recipes – from a past contestant from the TV show Chopped\, chef Allie Lyttle. This in-person seminar is presented as part of the Angela Cares series. \n\n\n\n\nRegister Now \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Chef Allie Lyttle:Allie Lyttle is the owner of Lala’s & Lala’s Too\, currently located in Brighton\, Michigan. Allie started at 18 years old when she was in nursing school and ended up leaving her program to pursue her dream of becoming a Chef. Allie has had the pleasure of working all over Ann Arbor & Detroit\, mostly notably Zingerman’s Roadhouse\, Zingerman’s Cornman Farms\, Parks & Rec Diner and BonBonBon. She most recently became the Executive Chef at The Standard Bistro & Larder in 2019 and once the pandemic happened they decided they needed to pivot to better serve their community and the idea of Lala’s was born – an elevated comfort food spot with a fresh & funky menu that rotates often and helps folks expand their culinary mind. She decided to branch out on her own and open Lala’s Too\, an elevated comfort food grab and go destination\, while looking for the perfect location to reopen Lala’s\, the restaurant. Fun facts: She is a collector of vintage pyrex and lover of bourbon\, coffee\, and salt. She doesn’t remember her natural hair color anymore and has more cookbooks than most libraries.

SUMMARY:Divine Mercy for Our Times!
DESCRIPTION:$35 (includes lunch) \n\n\n\nPresented by Catherine Lanni\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIn each of our lives there is a need for healing\, whether it be physical\, mental or spiritual. It is through Our Lord Jesus Christ\, Divine Mercy Itself\, that we are able to receive this healing that each of us so deeply desires. Catherine Lanni will speak about her personal experience of the healing power of Jesus’ Divine Mercy\, the importance of Divine Mercy in today’s world\, and how this message can help bring us hope in today’s world. \n\n\n\nCatherine Lanni’s journey\, from a miraculous healing to founding the Servants of Jesus of The Divine Mercy and establishing the Shrine of Jesus The Divine Mercy\, reflects deep gratitude and a commitment to spreading the Divine Mercy message. After a life-saving encounter with the Blessed Virgin Mary\, Catherine fulfilled a promise to “do something good” for Jesus\, leading to the establishment of the Servants of Jesus of The Divine Mercy and the Sisters of Jesus’ Merciful Passion. Her dedication to sharing the Divine Mercy message is evident in her book “A Call to Trust\,” showcasing the power of faith and fulfilling a promise through a life devoted to serving others in the name of Divine Mercy. \n\n\n\nThis retreat is part of our Wisdom Wednesdays series. SUMMARY:Artist Tour with Sr. Ann Therese Kelly
DESCRIPTION:Join us for in-depth conversations with Art in Craft Media 2023 artists as they talk about their work\, process\, and influences in a series of Artist Tours scheduled throughout the run of the exhibition. Learn what is important and meaningful for each presenting artist\, ask questions\, and engage directly with these out-of-the-ordinary makers of art. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nArtists:Sr. Ann Therese Kelly Ann C. ClarkeNancy GongVirginia CassettaJames SedwickMindy AirhartTami FullerD.C. BennettJozef BajusMary BegleyDiane MenchettiLinda CollignonArt in Craft Media 2023 is the most significant exhibition that we have presented in this biennial since it began in 1988. Throughout its history\, we have always celebrated the incredible work that defines and redefines the flexible definition of “Craft” based on the vision of Sylvia L. Rosen\, the artists that we present\, and the jurors we have been honored to work with. With the passing of Sylvia in 2022 at the age of 102\, we take on greater responsibility as we enter this new era. We move forward knowing that we are honoring her and her vision\, and through intention and diligence\, we continue to make her proud. We hope that\, as she said at the beginning of each exhibition\, this is the best one ever. This exhibit will run until March 10\, 2024. –Burchfield Penney Art Center \n\n\n\n\nLearn More

SUMMARY:Walk of Remembrance
DESCRIPTION:On the Angela Hospice Grounds\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin Angela Hospice Saturday\, September 16th from 9am to noon for this family-friendly event\, celebrating those we’ve loved and lost. The Walk of Remembrance will take place rain or shine on our picturesque grounds. Come between 9 and noon and walk the 2.2-mile route at your leisure. A rock painting activity adds special meaning to the morning as well. \n\n\n\nWalk of Remembrance Teams\n\n\n\nTeams are an important part of our Walk of Remembrance. Forming a team is a great way to honor your loved one and do something positive to help others. Many team captains find it to be a meaningful and deeply rewarding experience — one that can bring you together with family and friends\, all in memory of your loved one. \n\n\n\nWhy Form A Team?\n\n\n\n\nTo honor a special loved one\n\n\n\nTo support in a tangible way the work of Angela Hospice\n\n\n\nTo unify a group of people and make a difference in the community\n\n\n\n\nHow Do I Form A Team?\n\n\n\n\n It’s simple! Just complete a Team Sign Up Form.  \n\n\n\nThere is no set number of team members.\n\n\n\nWe’ve had teams of 2 people up to 30!\n\n\n\n\nThen What?\n\n\n\n\nFirst\, talk to your friends and loved ones – they may want to be part of your team or support you with a donation!\n\n\n\nThen start fundraising! Here are some simple ways to do fundraising for your team:\n\nYou can easily tell others about your team by creating a FACEBOOK FUNDRAISER. \n\n\n\nUse the sample letter and social media posts at the end of this package to tell your friends and family about your team and ask for their support.\n\n\n\nPlan a fundraising event!\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegister for the Walk \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAll proceeds will benefit Angela’s Hospice charitable programs. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nQuestions?Helen BalmforthAngela Hospice Community Outreach & Event Specialist734-953-6045
