Pioneers in health care, education and social services, the Felician Sisters of North America have founded, sponsor, co-sponsor or support through the presence of our sisters, more than 40 ministries across the continent.

Constantly evolving to meet the needs of the time, we continue to follow God’s will and Blessed Mary Angela’s directive to “serve where you are needed.”

Maryville Retreat Center

Maryville Retreat Center, located in Holly, Michigan, is a serene sanctuary dedicated to spiritual renewal and personal growth. Nestled on 240 acres along the tranquil shores of Lake Elliott, the center offers a peaceful environment for individuals and groups seeking respite from daily life. Guests can enjoy the natural beauty of the grounds through walking trails, lake activities, and outdoor gathering spaces. While rooted in Catholic tradition, the center welcomes people of all faiths and backgrounds, providing a space for reflection, healing, and spiritual exploration.

Serving where needed since 1874

Founded in Poland in 1855, the Felician Sisters are a congregation of women religious inspired by the spiritual ideals of their foundress, Blessed Mary Angela Truszkowska, and Saints Francis of Assisi, Clare of Assisi and Felix of Cantalice. Arriving in North America in 1874 following Blessed Mary Angela’s directive “to serve where needed,” they helped to weave the social service system. Today, the Felician Sisters founded, sponsor or support through the presence of our sisters, more than 40 ministries – all continuing to evolve to meet the needs of the people they serve.
