In 1874, Mother Mary Angela Truszkowska sent five Felician Sisters across the Atlantic to North America. On November 21, they arrived in Polonia, WI, where the pastor of St. Joseph Parish, Fr. Joseph Dabrowski had requested their help educating the children of polish immigrants.
Their hard work, joyfulness and charism had a profound effect on people, and as women joined them, Felician Sisters’ ministries continued to grow across the U.S. and Canada, then in Haiti.

Celebrating Our Sesquicentennial
Mass and receptions were held throughout Our Lady of Hope Province and in many former provinces in North America. We are grateful for all who attended.

Thank you to everyone whose dedication, creativity and support brought this anniversary year to life.
150th Anniversary Felician Pilgrimage to Poland
From April 26 through May 5, we walked in the footprints of our foundress, Blessed Mary Angela, through Warsaw, Częstochowa, Krakow and Wadowice. We visited the Black Madonna of Częstochowa and the birthplace of Pope Saint John Paul II. Sr. Inga Borko and Sr. Marilyn Minter lead us on a tour that deepened our understanding of the founding of the Felician Sisters.
