The 1874 Society

Thank you for your interest and generosity! As we celebrate the 150th Anniversary of the Felician Sisters serving in North America, we’re grateful for our supporters throughout the years — and we look forward to the good that will result from your gift right now.

Since 1874, the Felician Sisters have been a pillar of hope and service across North America. To continue the sisters’ legacy of service, we’re launching the 1874 Society and Founders Fund.

The Founders Fund will provide funding for the sisters to use where and when it’s needed most. The 1874 Society recognizes anyone giving $1,874 or more annually to the Founders Fund. Members will also receive a 150th Anniversary pin.

Every gift is important! Not ready to join the 1874 Society? You can still support the Founders Fund here.

Serving where needed since 1874

Founded in Poland in 1855, the Felician Sisters are a congregation of women religious inspired by the spiritual ideals of their foundress, Blessed Mary Angela Truszkowska, and Saints Francis of Assisi, Clare of Assisi and Felix of Cantalice. Arriving in North America in 1874 following Blessed Mary Angela’s directive “to serve where needed,” they helped to weave the social service system. Today, the Felician Sisters founded, sponsor or support through the presence of our sisters, more than 40 ministries – all continuing to evolve to meet the needs of the people they serve.
