Sister Mary Susan Holbach (formerly Sister Mary Doreen), born November 6, 1946 in Wausau, Wisconsin, died January 26, 2023 at Mother of Good Counsel Convent in Chicago, IL. Sr. Susan was a Felician Sister for 58 years, serving in several capacities, including as a teacher and principal in Catholic elementary schools, as well as a Principal of a Catholic high school, and an infant care lead teacher. Sister Susan graduated from St. Michael’s Catholic grade school in Wausau in 1960 and then went on to attend Good Counsel High School in Chicago. She also attended and graduated from Loyola College. She became a postulant on June 21, 1964. Susan was the eldest daughter of the late Leonard and Elizabeth Holbach and the beloved sister of Ronald, Patricia (Robert) Torney, and Karen (Thomas) Olson. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial was held in Chicago, IL, with interment at St. Adalbert Catholic Cemetery in Niles, IL.
