With the close of their 150th anniversary year, the Felician Sisters of North America are joyfully opening a new chapter—and a new home for their rich legacy. The Heritage Center was formally opened on November 21 with a ribbon cutting ceremony and tours. The newly completed Heritage Center is located on the campus of Madonna University in the Welcome Center in Livonia, Michigan.
Designed as a vibrant, interactive space that honors the Congregation’s story, the Heritage Center features archival displays, historical artifacts, rotating gallery exhibits and multimedia experiences that illuminate the Sisters’ ministry, spirituality and global impact from 1874 to today. The Center also highlights the extraordinary contributions of the Sisters across education, healthcare, social service, ecological stewardship and spiritual formation.
The recent ribbon cutting ceremony gathered Sisters, partners in mission, local community members and project collaborators in celebrating this milestone. The opening signifies not only the preservation of history but a renewed commitment to sharing the Felician story with future generations.
The Heritage Center is open for public tours with opportunities for group visits, school field trips and community partnerships. The Center’s team—including Sr. Andrew Budinski, Director—will begin outreach to visitor bureaus, parishes, universities and cultural organizations to introduce this unique addition to Michigan’s religious and historical landscape.
