I can’t tell you how indebted I am to the sisters who taught me at Villa Maria Academy in Buffalo. They were instrumental in instilling a positive attitude in me toward my Catholic faith and their expert instruction prepared me not only for college but for many years afterward to this day. I fondly recall †Sr. Dulciana Plewniak explaining the difference between ironing and pressing a garment. Sr. Claudette filled the blackboards with notes on European cultures and I remember †Sr. Eligia Bialkowski’s rosary beads swinging from her waist as she hurried into Latin class.
