The Felician-sponsored Montessori Center of Our Lady (MCOL) and St. Mary Child Care Center (SMCCC), both in Livonia, MI, joined forces with Goodfellows this year for the No Child Without a Christmas food and toy drive.
The generosity of staff and families was overwhelming. Karen Mroczka, program director at St. Mary Child Care Center, said, “Even in times of crisis, the donations were more than we could imagine, and they exceeded our expectations. We had so many donations that they were filling up our reception area. Team members made weekly trips for over a month to deliver the donations.”
Together, the two ministries donated more than 200 toys and nearly 400 pounds of food.
The donated items will be given to those families in the local community who are experiencing financial hardships. Karen continued, “Partnering with the Livonia Goodfellows is wonderful because we are doing what we do best – helping families and children.”
Gail C. Jones, business and mission director for SMCCC, reflected, “This is a true testament of our ministries continuing the work of Blessed Mary Angela. Our staff and families are committed to serving where needed and living out the core values of Respect for Human Dignity, Compassion, Transformation, Solidarity with the Poor, and Justice & Peace.”
