Standing up for the rights of the unborn is only the first step toward reverencing the miracle of life. The Felician Sisters in Providence, RI are helping to ensure comprehensive supports are in place for pregnant women who choose life. St. Adalbert Parish took part in Right to Life Services, Inc.’s Baby Bottle Boomerang campaign. Parishioners were asked to fill small plastic baby bottles with spare change, bills or checks. Donations are used to cover operation costs for the Ancora Women’s Mobile Care Center where women in Rhode Island can receive free pregnancy tests and ultrasounds.
Funds collected through the campaign also support the Maternity Hope Chest, a program providing expectant moms and families in need with diapers, wipes, toiletries, clothing, blankets, bassinets, cribs, strollers, high chairs, car seats, emergency formula, baby food, and all the other million things that are needed to properly care for a baby. The sisters at St. Adalbert contributed funds to the bottle campaign too, and Sr. Mary John Fryc added a personal touch by making baby hats to go along with the donation-filled baby bottles.
Each year Right to Life Services’ programs help hundreds of mothers who courageously choose life over abortion, and the Felician Sisters support this important work, understanding that providing mothers with all the worldly items they need to care for a child is the practical approach to a pro-life stance.
