At the very site where the first five Felician Sisters in North America established their ministries, their work continues in the form of the Felician Village, a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC). The work of these early sisters has flourished into a ministry now known as the Felician Village, a community with services including: independent and assisted senior living, rehabilitation services, skilled nursing care, massage therapy, a hair salon, walking trails, and of course, daily Mass at the Blessed Angela Chapel.
It is estimated that 87.9 million (over one-fifth) of the national population of the United States will be at the retirement age of 65 or older by 2050. Likewise, 52% of people turning 65 will need long-term care services at some point in their lifetimes. The Felician Sisters make their services available wherever there is a need, and the Felician Village—the only CCRC in Manitowoc County, Wisconsin—continues to carry out the mission and vision established by Blessed Angela through its compassionate care.
For the 13th year in a row, The Official Community Choice Awards held by The Herald Times Reporter has voted Felician Village Best of the Lakeshore for the Manitowoc area. A Felician-sponsored ministry, Felician Village provides quality, resident-focused senior living where dignity and self-worth are valued, lives are enriched, and relationships are celebrated. Working with each individual, the goal is to help residents maintain maximum independence with the knowledge that support services are available should they be needed. Whether it’s the schedule for housekeeping services, special meal and dietary needs or the choice of recreation and exercise, residents’ interests, tastes and preferences come first.
