Felician Sisters sponsor and participate in two national Catholic conferences, SEEK and the National Catholic Youth Conference, or NCYC. SEEK, a three-day conference organized by FOCUS, whose goal is to encounter people in friendship, invite participants into a personal relationship with Christ and accompany them as they pursue lives of virtue and excellence. Similarly, NCYC provides a unique three-day experience of prayer, community, evangelization, catechesis, service, and empowerment for Catholic teenagers.
At the most recent SEEK and NCYC conferences, the Felician Sisters of North America showcased a powerful symbol of faith: a wooden cross adorned with nails, centrally positioned within their booth. Accompanied by a simple sign bearing the message, “Leave Your Hopes and Burdens on the Cross,” conference participants were encouraged to share their thoughts, prayers, joys, and sorrows on small tags, which were then tenderly hung upon the cross.
The response was immense. At the SEEK conference, 303 heartfelt prayers and reflections were collected, while 309 were penned by NCYC attendees. These poignant messages, each significant in its own right, will be distributed among FSNA convents. There, the sisters will embrace each prayer, incorporating them into their daily devotions with care and reverence.
