Renewal of Vows and Petitioning

Felician Sisters celebrated spiritual renewal and vocation journeys throughout the past week, embracing new beginnings and deepening their commitment to faith.

The Provincial House in Beaver Falls, PA was filled with excitement as Sisters renewed their vows and celebrated new beginnings. On October 26, Sisters Agnes Maria Trojnar and Gabriella Maria Ianieri, accompanied by their local ministers, Sisters Mary Jeanine Morozowich and Mary Jean Sliwinski, renewed their temporary vows for the sixth time. Rev. William Schwartz, Provincial House Chaplain, presided over the Eucharistic Liturgy.

Postulant Mairead Murphy and Sister Judith Marie Kubicki

On October 27, Sister Mary Victoria Richardson, Postulant Director, accompanied postulant Mairead Murphy to the Provincial House, where Mairead sought admission to the novitiate. After a series of interviews and the Council’s approval, Mairead’s Petitioning Service took place on October 30. Mairead’s reception into the novitiate will take place on December 7, with a Mass of Thanksgiving the following day.

Sister Catherine Marie-Elizabeth Rotterman at St. Jude Parish

On October 29 at St. Jude Parish in Rio Rancho, NM, Sister Catherine Marie-Elizabeth Rotterman also renewed her vows, joined by Sisters Rosemarie Goins and Margaret Marie Padilla. Reflecting on her journey, Sister Catherine shared: “This first year has been quite an adventure — and a learning experience about God and how I am called to live and love as Sr. Catherine Marie-Elizabeth Rotterman.”

Founded in Poland in 1855, the Felician Sisters are a congregation of women religious inspired by the spiritual ideals of their foundress, Blessed Mary Angela Truszkowska, and Saints Francis of Assisi, Clare of Assisi and Felix of Cantalice. Arriving in North America in 1874 following Blessed Mary Angela’s directive “to serve where needed,” they helped to weave the social service system. Today, the Felician Sisters founded, sponsor or support through the presence of our sisters, more than 40 ministries – all continuing to evolve to meet the needs of the people they serve.
