Children Share the Nativity Story

International students bring the Christmas story to life with music and joy.

Mary from Cameroon, an angel from the Philippines, a king and a shepherd from India and other children presented a short Nativity program for their parents at St. Ann Church on December 8th in Kingstree, SC.

Confirmation students from the Philipines narrated the story, including the angel’s appearance to Mary, the events in Bethlehem, and the visit from three (oops, four!) kings who brought gifts. The program concluded with the children playing “Joy to the World” on handbells.

Sisters Susanne Dziedzic, Johnna Ciezobka, and Carol Piskor from the Felician Center prepared the children for the presentation, showing that peace on earth is possible when people of all nations come together as one.

Serving where needed since 1874

Founded in Poland in 1855, the Felician Sisters are a congregation of women religious inspired by the spiritual ideals of their foundress, Blessed Mary Angela Truszkowska, and Saints Francis of Assisi, Clare of Assisi and Felix of Cantalice. Arriving in North America in 1874 following Blessed Mary Angela’s directive “to serve where needed,” they helped to weave the social service system. Today, the Felician Sisters founded, sponsor or support through the presence of our sisters, more than 40 ministries – all continuing to evolve to meet the needs of the people they serve.
