“The Felician Difference” Vocation Reflection
By: Sr. Mary Joanne Suranni
The spirit of Franciscan joy led me to the Felician Sisters. When I was a young woman growing up in a small town, the sisters served as my teachers at my local Catholic high school. One sister stood out as joyful and vibrant. She had a fire in her soul that spoke of love and generosity. Her spirit awakened in me the call to religious life and largely shaped who I am today as a Felician Sister.
The presence of Felician Sisters in my life opened me to new elements of faith and spirituality that I had never experienced as a young person. Through our high school mission club, I came to understand what it really means to have a personal relationship with Christ. I can honestly say that I met Jesus through the Felician Sisters and I fell in love with Him. As I have grown in love with Him through prayer, community and consecration, I have been blessed to serve the Lord with joy through various ministries.
