On Sunday, May 5, the Felician Associates of Western New York visited the Sisters of Blessed Mary Angela Convent in Buffalo, NY. Under the guidance of Regional Associate Coordinator Sister Mary Gerard Fredrick, the Associates learned about the Franciscan Crown, a Rosary consisting of seven decades, each representing one of the seven joys of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Images and statues of the Felician Foundress, Blessed Mary Angela Truszkowska, depict a Franciscan Crown Rosary hanging at her side. Sister Gerard brought her Franciscan Crown to the meeting for the Associates to examine, and they each received their own to take home.
The Associates also signed holy cards with an image of St. Felix of Cantalice in preparation for his feast day on May 18. The cards will be distributed to Sisters in the Care Center and in Immaculate Heart of Mary Convent.
Sister Gerard is pleased to see that as the Sisters and Associates spend more time together, they have begun to form special connections and relationships. She also shared that she has been in contact with two new serious inquirers regarding Prayer Associate membership.
