Work has begun at Felician Mission: Haiti to enroll students from Jacmel in Madonna University’s online bachelor’s degree program, and the Felician Volunteers in Mission (VIM) are lending a hand. In order to be accepted to the Madonna program, students must first pass an English proficiency exam. That’s where VIM has stepped in – offering a remote tutoring program that connects volunteers in the United States with students in Haiti via Zoom to help them practice their English. Two students are currently meeting with tutors, with hopes of acceptance into the Madonna program. This opportunity to earn a college degree can make all the difference in the lives of the people in Haiti, empowering them to improve their own situations and their communities.
More tutors are always needed. If you’d like to make a difference in the lives of Haitian students from your own home, please complete the VIM application online. Applicants must complete a screening process, including a background check, before being matched with a student.
