The Madonna University School of Business is excited to announce the inaugural cohort from Haiti in their MBA program. This achievement has been made possible through the support of the Felician Sisters and the commitment of the university’s administration.
This fall semester, ten exceptional alumni of the Haiti Education Leadership Program (H.E.L.P) have commenced their journey toward their MBA degrees. The creation of this program was driven by the determination of these graduates to advance their education at the graduate level.
In 2011, Madonna University launched H.E.L.P., a three-year online bachelor’s degree program in Business Administration. The overarching objective of H.E.L.P is to nurture leaders committed to enhancing a country grappling with poverty and governance challenges. Through H.E.L.P., Madonna University and the Felician Sisters are cultivating leaders in Haiti, equipping them to establish small businesses, enhance educational delivery, elevate living standards for families and optimize the provision of essential services. These efforts are positioned to have a profound impact on the lives of Haitian citizens.
In order to promote fairness and inclusivity, a random draw was conducted to select the recipients of the sponsorship opportunities. Eligible candidates were notified, and all those who were offered sponsorship graciously accepted. In August, Elizabeth Prough, the interim dean of the Graduate School, and Tara Kane, the dean of the School of Business, welcomed the cohort and shared information about graduate studies at Madonna University during a Zoom meeting. “It was wonderful to hear the awardees’ appreciation for the opportunity as well as to learn how they plan on using their advanced education to better Haiti,” said Kane.
Prough shared her well-wishes with the students. “We wish them success as they plan to work hard and persevere toward the successful completion of their degrees.”
Join us in commemorating this significant moment as we extend our heartfelt welcome to Madonna’s inaugural Haitian MBA cohort. Their unwavering commitment to furthering their education and effecting positive change in their community is inspiring.
