Catholic Charities Housing and its partners broke ground on March 21 for Felician Villa, a new senior living apartment complex in Rio Rancho, NM. The land was generously donated to Catholic Charities by the Felician Sisters of North America. The facility is being built on the site of the former central convent in Rio Rancho. Sisters Mary Martha Janysek, Rosemarie Goins, and Mary Geralyn Mroczkowski from FSI, along with Sister Catherine Rotterman, who started as an administrative associate at St. Felix Pantry in Rio Rancho this year, were all in attendance at the groundbreaking.
The complex will comprise 132 apartments tailored for residents aged 55 and above. With amenities like health education and social activities, the project aims to address the city’s need for senior housing. Scheduled for completion in just over a year, Felician Villa represents a collaborative effort to meet the community’s diverse housing needs.
“We are so grateful to the Felician Sisters of Rio Rancho who donated this property and to all our partners who pulled resources together to make this development happen. We are excited to bring this project to the community of Rio Rancho.”
Dolores Nunez, President of Catholic Charities Housing
