When I toured Villa St. Francis in Milwaukee, I knew that this would make the perfect new home for me. The first person I met was Sr. Barbara, who was behind the reception desk. She was so sweet and friendly. After meeting her and seeing the beautiful chapel, I knew this would be the perfect fit for me. Once I moved in, I began attending daily Mass. In my discussions with Sr. Beatrice, I realized that I needed to receive the sacrament of reconciliation; it had been 50 years since my last confession! I am so grateful for Sr. Bea’s gentle guidance and I grow deeper in my relationship with Jesus every day. When I met Sr. Ramona, I thought she was a saint. I followed her around the campus and learned so much from her. She gets to know people, and then does whatever needs to be done. She is a humble servant whom I admire greatly. I learned a lot from Sr. Paula about grief and loss, and I ponder those lessons in my heart. Sr. Clarette once gave us a talk explaining that the Felician Sisters will do everything that no one else wants to do; whatever needs to be done, the Felician Sisters respond into action. The Sisters do so much for others, which inspires me to likewise tend to the needs of others. It was Sr. Barbara who recommended that I inquire into becoming a Felician Associate. Sr. Bea provided guidance and I became a Felician Prayer Associate. Now, I am currently in formation to become an Active Felician Associate. I have so much respect and love for these women. They are very precious to me.
