On Saturday, September 21st, seven Felician Sisters from the Livonia, Michigan area participated in Angela Hospice’s Walk of Remembrance. Families and individuals joined them to honor and celebrate their loved ones who had passed, a powerful testament to the enduring love that continues to provide comfort and inspiration.
Sr. Grace Marie Del Priore, Sr. Felicity Marie Madigan, Sr. Mary Francis Lewandowski, Sr. Jane Mary McNamara, Sr. Darlene Marie Schoenherr, Sr. Jane Mary Gawlik, and Sr. Judy Marie Blizzard donned the event’s periwinkle t-shirts and their sneakers or sandals, joining hundreds of others in walking around the beautiful grounds. Together, they remembered those who had touched their lives and are now at home with God. The walk was held to raise awareness and support for Angela Hospice and its compassionate ministry.
The seven sisters, calling themselves “The Sesquicentennial Strollers,” walked in remembrance of the 21 sisters from their province who had passed away over the past year, as well as family members and friends. The atmosphere of the event was joyful and faith-filled, with participants keeping in mind 1 Corinthians 15:51-52, which reminds us that life has changed, not ended. Our loved ones are just a heartbeat away.
Whether this day of reflection brought laughter, tears, or a mix of both, may all who participated find strength in the knowledge that their loved ones remain forever in their hearts. As Morrie Schwartz once said: “Death ends a life, not a relationship. All the love you created is still there. All the memories are still there. You live on — in the hearts of everyone you touched and nurtured while you were here.”
