Despite the complications caused by COVID-19, the St. Thomas Aquinas High School (STA) family in Edison, NJ, once again showed how big their hearts are with an outpouring of donations for Thanksgiving.
The school collected approximately 75 frozen turkeys that maintenance staff delivered to FISH, Inc., in Piscataway, NJ. FISH is a service organization of volunteers who respond with compassion to the needs of the poor, the elderly, the homeless, and those who “fall between the cracks” of public assistance.
“The volunteers at FISH were so happy to see them with the frozen birds! There were so many people already waiting in line to receive their Thanksgiving food.”
Sr. Cynthia Marie Babyak, Campus Minister
The STA family also did an outstanding job donating non–perishable items of food for Thanksgiving baskets. Senior Anali Rodriguez and her family annually prepare baskets for the needy. This year, the Rodriguez family used the food donated by the STA community in their baskets.
Sr. Cynthia said, “Thanksgiving is much better this year for many area families because of the generous hearts of the Aquinas Family. Thank you, and God bless you!”
