On May 6, the Beaver County Educational Trust hosted its annual Hall of Fame event, Coming Together for Education—a celebration of individuals whose contributions to learning and leadership continue to shape the future for students and educators across Beaver County.
Among the honored inductees was Sister Mary Thaddeus Markelewicz, a Felician Sister whose years of service and education spans more than six decades. From 1967 to 1979, Sister Thaddeus taught in the Pittsburgh and Cleveland dioceses, where she shared her love of learning and the Catholic faith with her students. She later served as President and CEO of McGuire Memorial in New Brighton for 31 years. Under her leadership, the organization grew from serving 99 children and families to reaching over 250 individuals through five impactful programs.
Please join us in congratulating Sister Thaddeus Markelewicz and all the 2025 inductees on this well-deserved honor. Their achievements remind us of the lasting impact of dedication, compassion and a lifelong love of learning.
Congratulations, Sister Thaddeus
